Saranac Spartans (Saranac, NY) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Plattsburgh Hornets (Plattsburgh, NY), 9-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now sport a 12-5 record. They take the field next when they host Saranac Lake for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 22. Saranac will face a Red Storm squad coming off a 23-11 league loss to Moriah (Port Henry, NY). The Red Storm record now stands at 2-11.

With the loss, Plattsburgh falls to 4-10 on the campaign. The Hornets host Beekmantown (Plattsburgh, NY) to face the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 20. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 6-11. Beekmantown lost 6-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Northeastern Clinton (Champlain, NY)
