St. Raphael Academy Saints (Pawtucket, RI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting St. Mary Academy-Bay View Bengals (East Providence, RI), 3-2 in a league challenge.

The Saints now own a 4-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Kingstown for a Division 1 (State) challenge on Sunday, May 19. St. Raphael Academy will battle a Skippers squad coming off a 8-0 non-league win over Toll Gate (Warwick, RI). The Skippers record now stands at 5-12.

With the loss, St. Mary Academy-Bay View falls to 3-13 on the campaign. The Bengals travel to Coventry (Coventry, RI) to battle the Oakers in a Division 1 (State) challenge on Saturday, May 18. The Oakers enter the challenge with a record of 13-3. Coventry won 3-1 in their recent league challenge against North Kingstown (North Kingstown, RI)
