Connecticut High School Softball - Ansonia held off by Derby

May 17, 2025: Derby, CT 06418

In Saturday's league test, the Derby Red Raiders (Derby, CT) softball squad got by the visiting Ansonia Chargers (Ansonia, CT), by a count of 14-13.

Next, the Red Raiders meet the Crosby Bulldogs (Waterbury, CT) in a Naugatuck Valley - Brass test, on Tuesday, May 20. Derby will attempt to upgrade on its 4-11 season record. The Bulldogs go into the test with a 1-14 record after their 16-0 non-league loss to Seymour (Seymour, CT).

The Chargers (4-12) will now prepare for their test against Kennedy (Waterbury, CT). The Eagles go into the Naugatuck Valley - Brass test with a 6-7 record. In their last test, Kennedy was nudged by St. Paul Catholic (Bristol, CT), 16-0, in a league test.
