Rhode Island High School Softball - Prout sneaks past Westerly

May 17, 2025: Wakefield, RI 02879

The Prout Crusaders softball team scored 6 runs and held the visiting Westerly Bulldogs to 5 in the Crusaders league win on Saturday.

The Crusaders now sport a 9-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Ponaganset for a Division 1 battle on Sunday, May 18. Prout will confront a Chieftains team coming off a 11-1 league loss to Chariho (Wood River Junction, RI). The Chieftains record now stands at 5-11.

With the loss, Westerly falls to 10-9 on the year. The Bulldogs travel to Chariho (Wood River Junction, RI) to play the Chargers in a Division 1 game on Sunday, May 18. The Chargers enter the game with a record of 12-5. Chariho won 11-1 in their recent league game against Ponaganset (North Scituate, RI)
