Northwestern Wildcats (Albion, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Mercyhurst Prep Lakers (Erie, PA), 15-0 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 5-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Iroquois for a District 10 Region 3 challenge on Monday, May 23. Northwestern will face a Braves squad coming off a 13-10 league win over Conneaut (Conneaut, OH). The Braves record now stands at 7-9.

With the loss, Mercyhurst Prep falls to 1-12 on the campaign. The Lakers host North East (North East, PA) to face the Grape Pickers in a District 10 Region 3 challenge on Thursday, May 19. The Grape Pickers enter the challenge with a record of 10-6. North East won 20-7 in their recent league challenge against Conneaut (Conneaut, OH)
