Jefferson Forest Cavaliers (Forest, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA), 3-2 in a league challenge.

The Cavaliers now own a 11-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Liberty for a Seminole challenge on Friday, May 19. Jefferson Forest will battle a Minutemen squad coming off a 15-3 league loss to Amherst County (Amherst, VA). The Minutemen record now stands at 4-13.

With the loss, Amherst County falls to 17-2 on the campaign. The Lancers host Brookville (Lynchburg, VA) to battle the Bees in a Seminole challenge on Friday, May 19. The Bees enter the challenge with a record of 7-10. Brookville lost 7-4 in their recent league challenge against Rustburg (Rustburg, VA)
