Hermon Hawks (Hermon, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Hampden Broncos (Hampden, ME), 7-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 8-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Presque Isle for a Class B North challenge on Saturday, May 20. Hermon will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Greater Houlton Christian Academy (Houlton, ME). The Wildcats record now stands at 5-5.

With the loss, Hampden falls to 7-5 on the campaign. The Broncos travel to Mt. Blue (Farmington, ME) to face the Cougars in a Class A North challenge on Monday, May 22. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 1-11. Mt. Blue lost 25-7 in their recent non-league challenge against Leavitt (Turner, ME)
