Springs Valley Blackhawks (French Lick, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Salem Lions (Salem, IN), 11-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Blackhawks now own a 10-9 record. They take the field next when they host Orleans for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 19. Springs Valley will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 10-2 non-league loss to Brownstown Central (Brownstown, IN). The Bulldogs record now stands at 11-12.

With the loss, Salem falls to 10-15 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Scottsburg (Scottsburg, IN) to face the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 23. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 17-9. Scottsburg lost 10-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Columbus East (Columbus, IN)
