Spectators at Saturday's non-league battle between the West Lafayette Red Devils (West Lafayette, IN) and the visiting Merrillville Pirates (Merrillville, IN), saw West Lafayette's baseball squad edge Merrillville by a count of 9-8.

Coming up next, the Red Devils play the North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers (Crawfordsville, IN) in a non-league battle, on Wednesday, May 22. West Lafayette will attempt to move on its 8-13 season record. The Chargin' Chargers enter the battle with a 17-7 record after their 8-2 non-league win over Greencastle (Greencastle, IN).
