Triton Regional Vikings (Byfield, MA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting North Reading Hornets (North Reading, MA), 3-1 in a league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 10-4 record. They take the field next when they host Manchester Essex for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 20. Triton Regional will battle a Hornets squad coming off a 8-1 non-league loss to Essex North Shore Agric & Tech School (Hathorne, MA). The Hornets record now stands at 7-10.

With the loss, North Reading falls to 6-1 on the campaign. The Hornets host Hamilton-Wenham Regional (South Hamilton, MA) to battle the Generals in a Cape Ann Kinney challenge on Monday, May 20. The Generals enter the challenge with a record of 4-6.
