The Newtown Nighthawks (Newtown, CT) baseball got by the visiting New Fairfield Rebels (New Fairfield, CT), 8-7 in Sunday's league challenge.

The Nighthawks now own a 9-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Weston for a Southwest challenge on Monday, May 19.

With the defeat, New Fairfield drops to 8-10 on the year. The Rebels travel to Bunnell (Stratford, CT) to clash with the Bulldogs in a Southwest challenge on Monday, May 19. The Bulldogs go into the challenge with a record of 8-9. Bunnell lost 3-0 in their recent league challenge against New Milford (New Milford, CT)
