Virginia High School Baseball - Gloucester prevails Smithfield

May 18, 2026: Gloucester, VA 23061

The Gloucester Dukes baseball team scored 11 runs and held the visiting Smithfield Packers to 2 in the Dukes league win on Monday.

The Dukes now hold a 6-14 record. They take the field next when they travel to Warhill for a Bay Rivers test on Wednesday, May 20. Gloucester will play a Lions team coming off a 7-3 league loss to Tabb (Yorktown, VA). The Lions record now stands at 14-6.

With the defeat, Smithfield drops to 5-15 on the year. The Packers host Poquoson (Poquoson, VA) to play the Bull Islanders in a Bay Rivers test on Wednesday, May 20. The Bull Islanders go into the test with a record of 10-10. Poquoson won 8-0 in their recent league test against Bruton (Williamsburg, VA)
