Mayfield Wildcats (Mayfield, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host North Rangers (Eastlake, OH), 8-4 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 14-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Kenston for a Western Reserve match on Friday, May 20. Mayfield will face a Bombers squad coming off a 7-6 non-league win over Wickliffe (Wickliffe, OH). The Bombers record now stands at 6-13.

With the loss, North falls to 11-8 on the campaign.
