Downingtown West Whippets (Downingtown, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Avon Grove Red Devils (West Grove, PA), 2-1 in a league challenge.

The Whippets now own a 14-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Exeter Township for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 5.

With the loss, Avon Grove falls to 9-4 on the campaign. The Red devils host Kennett (Kennett Square, PA) to face the Blue Demons in a Ches-Mont challenge on Wednesday, May 4. The Blue Demons enter the challenge with a record of 4-10. Kennett lost 9-8 in their recent league challenge against Great Valley (Malvern, PA)
