Westford Academy Grey Ghosts (Westford, MA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Bedford Buccaneers (Bedford, MA), 4-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Grey Ghosts now own a 8-1 record. They take the field next when they host Concord-Carlisle for a Dual County Large challenge on Thursday, May 5. Westford Academy will face a Patriots squad coming off a 3-1 league win over Newton South (Newton, MA). The Patriots record now stands at 1-2.

With the loss, Bedford falls to 5-1 on the campaign. The Buccaneers travel to Shawsheen Valley Tech (Billerica, MA) to face the Rams in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 4. The Rams enter the challenge with a record of 3-1.
