Chesapeake Panthers (Chesapeake, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting South Point Pointers (South Point, OH), 14-7 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 5-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rock Hill for a Ohio Valley challenge on Wednesday, May 4. Chesapeake will face a Redmen squad coming off a 3-2 league win over Ironton (Ironton, OH). The Redmen record now stands at 5-3.

With the loss, South Point falls to 1-9 on the campaign. The Pointers travel to Boyd County (Ashland, KY) to face the Lions in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 3. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 15-6. Boyd County lost 10-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Bath County (Owingsville, KY)
