Derry Trojans (Derry, PA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host East Allegheny Wild Cats (North Versailles, PA), 2-0 in a league challenge.

The Trojans now sport a 3-8 record. They take the field next when they host Deer Lakes for a WPIAL 3A 1 challenge on Tuesday, May 3. Derry will face a Lancers squad coming off a 11-1 league win over North Catholic (Cranberry Township, PA). The Lancers record now stands at 9-3.

With the loss, East Allegheny falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Wild cats travel to South Allegheny (McKeesport, PA) to face the Gladiators in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 4. The Gladiators enter the challenge with a record of 8-2.
