Fitzgerald Spartans (Warren, MI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Madison Eagles (Madison Heights, MI), 20-16 in a league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they host Eastpointe for a Macomb Area - Silver challenge on Wednesday, May 4.

With the loss, Madison falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Hazel Park (Hazel Park, MI) to battle the Vikings in a Macomb Area - Bronze challenge on Monday, May 9. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 2-1.
