Plainville Blue Devils (Plainville, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Platt Panthers (Meriden, CT), 7-1 in a league challenge.

The Blue Devils now own a 7-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to East Hartford for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 4. Plainville will face a Hornets squad coming off a 12-0 non-league loss to Avon (Avon, CT). The Hornets record now stands at 2-10.

With the loss, Platt falls to 5-8 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Rocky Hill (Rocky Hill, CT) to face the Terriers in a Central Connecticut - South challenge on Wednesday, May 4. The Terriers enter the challenge with a record of 7-4. Rocky Hill won 21-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Tolland (Tolland, CT)
