Ashland Hornets (Ashland, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Central Aroostook Panthers (Mars Hill, ME), 18-7 in a league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they host Katahdin for a Class D North challenge on Thursday, May 4. Ashland will face a Cougars squad coming off a 15-5 non-league win over Fort Kent (Fort Kent, ME). The Cougars record now stands at 2-1.

With the loss, Central Aroostook falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Panthers host Southern Aroostook (Dyer Brook, ME) to face the Warriors in a Class D North challenge on Thursday, May 4. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 2-0. Southern Aroostook won 14-3 in their recent league challenge against Fort Fairfield (Fort Fairfield, ME)
