Blacksburg Bruins (Blacksburg, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Salem Spartans (Salem, VA), 16-0 in a league challenge.

The Bruins now own a 11-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pulaski County for a River Ridge challenge on Friday, May 5. Blacksburg will face a Cougars squad coming off a 13-8 league win over Hidden Valley (Roanoke, VA). The Cougars record now stands at 10-7.

With the loss, Salem falls to 5-11 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Glenvar (Salem, VA) to face the Highlanders in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 3. The Highlanders enter the challenge with a record of 5-9. Glenvar won 6-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Craig County (New Castle, VA)
