Blaine Borderites (Blaine, WA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Mt. Baker Mountaineers (Deming, WA), 8-2 in a league challenge.

The Borderites now own a 9-1 record. They take the field next when they host Meridian for a 1A/2A/3A Northwest challenge on Thursday, May 4. Blaine will battle a Trojans squad coming off a 12-8 league loss to Nooksack Valley (Everson, WA). The Trojans record now stands at 9-6.

With the loss, Mt. Baker falls to 8-4 on the campaign. The Mountaineers travel to Lynden (Lynden, WA) to battle the Lions in a 1A/2A/3A Northwest challenge on Thursday, May 4. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 6-5. Lynden won 14-4 in their recent league challenge against Burlington-Edison (Burlington, WA)
