Glenvar Highlanders (Salem, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Craig County Rockets (New Castle, VA), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Highlanders now own a 5-9 record. They take the field next when they host Salem for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 3. Glenvar will face a Spartans squad coming off a 16-0 league loss to Blacksburg (Blacksburg, VA). The Spartans record now stands at 5-11.

With the loss, Craig County falls to 5-5 on the campaign. The Rockets travel to Roanoke Valley Christian (Roanoke, VA) to face the EAGLES in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 5. The EAGLES enter the challenge with a record of 1-8. Roanoke Valley Christian won 12-11 in their recent league challenge against United Christian Academy (Stanardsville, VA)
