The Frederick Douglass Broncos (Lexington, KY) softball nipped the visiting Henry Clay Blue Devils (Lexington, KY), 5-4 in Tuesday's league bout.
The Broncos (7-10) will now prepare for their bout against Bryan Station (Lexington, KY). The Defenders enter the District 42 challenge with a 12-8 record. In their last challenge, Bryan Station got by West Jessamine (Nicholasville, KY), 10-0, in a non-league challenge.
With the loss, Henry Clay falls to 17-8 on the campaign. The Blue devils host Scott County (Georgetown, KY) to battle the Cardinals in a District 42 challenge on Thursday, May 4. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a record of 13-6. Scott County lost 10-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Allen County-Scottsville (Scottsville, KY)
