Genoa-Kingston Cogs (Genoa, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Oregon Hawks (Oregon, IL), 8-4 in a league challenge.

The Cogs now sport a 10-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rock Falls for a Big Northern challenge on Thursday, May 4. Genoa-Kingston will face a Rockets squad coming off a 18-2 league win over Dixon (Dixon, IL). The Rockets record now stands at 21-4.

With the loss, Oregon falls to 14-8 on the campaign. The Hawks host North Boone (Poplar Grove, IL) to face the Vikings in a Big Northern challenge on Thursday, May 4. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 19-4. North Boone won 10-4 in their recent league challenge against Winnebago (Winnebago, IL)
