Piper Pirates (Kansas City, KS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Seaman Vikings (Topeka, KS), 14-10 in a league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 13-2 record. They take the field next when they host Tonganoxie for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 4. Piper will face a Chieftains squad coming off a 7-6 league loss to Ottawa (Ottawa, KS). The Chieftains record now stands at 12-5.

With the loss, Seaman falls to 9-8 on the campaign. The Vikings host Shawnee Heights (Tecumseh, KS) to face the Thunderbirds in a United Kansas challenge on Friday, May 5. The Thunderbirds enter the challenge with a record of 6-5. Shawnee Heights won 3-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Lansing (Lansing, KS)
