The Wheeler Lions baseball team scored 9 runs and limited the host Ledyard Colonels to 3 in the Lions non-league victory on Thursday.
The Lions (6-5) will now prepare for their match against Windham (Willimantic, CT). The Whippets go into the Eastern Connecticut - Division IV match with a 2-8 record. In their last match, Windham was overwhelmed by Plainfield (Central Village, CT), 13-6, in a non-league match.
The Colonels (1-12) will now prepare for their match against Montville (Oakdale, CT). The Wolves go into the non-league match with a 9-3 record. In their last match, Montville tipped Killingly (Killingly, CT), 10-2, in a non-league match.
