In Thursday's league battle, the host Cristo Rey Jesuit Cristeros volleyball team scored a tight 2-1 triumph over the Northtown Pumas.

The Cristeros (11-3) will now prepare for their battle against Nazareth Academy (LaGrange Park, IL). The Roadrunners come into the non-league battle with a 10-12 record. In their last battle, Nazareth Academy was edged by Marist (Chicago, IL), 2-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Pumas clash with the Walther Christian Academy Broncos (Melrose Park, IL) in a Chicago Prep battle, on Tuesday, May 7. Northtown will attempt to advance on its 6-8 season record. The Broncos come into the battle with a 12-14 record after their 2-0 league win over Holy Trinity (Chicago, IL).
