Fredonia Hillbillies (Fredonia, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Allegany-Limestone Gators (Allegany, NY), 7-1 in a league match.

The Hillbillies now sport a 9-0 record. They play next when they travel to Edison for a non-league match on Saturday, May 4. Fredonia will face a Spartans squad coming off a 12-0 league win over Notre Dame (Elmira, NY). The Spartans record now stands at 12-2.

With the loss, Allegany-Limestone moves to 5-5 on the season. The Gators host Dunkirk (Dunkirk, NY) to face the Marauders in a Chautaqua / Cattaragus I West match on Friday, May 3. The Marauders go into the match with a record of 2-8. Dunkirk lost 14-0 in their recent league match against Olean (Olean, NY)
