Essex Trojans (Tappahannock, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Colonial Beach Drifters (Colonial Beach, VA), 11-1 in a league challenge.

The Trojans now own a 13-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lancaster for a Northern Neck challenge on Tuesday, May 7. Essex will battle a Red Devils squad coming off a 14-3 league loss to Rappahannock (Warsaw, VA). The Red Devils record now stands at 6-11.

With the loss, Colonial Beach falls to 2-13 on the campaign. The Drifters travel to West Point (West Point, VA) to battle the Pointers in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 6. The Pointers enter the challenge with a record of 6-8.
