McHenry Warriors (McHenry, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Crystal Lake Central Tigers (Crystal Lake, IL), 2-1 in a league challenge.

The Warriors now own a 13-10 record. They take the field next when they host Hampshire for a Fox Valley challenge on Friday, May 3. McHenry will battle a Whip-Purs squad coming off a 7-4 league win over Cary-Grove (Cary, IL). The Whip-Purs record now stands at 13-9.

With the loss, Crystal Lake Central falls to 15-6 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Saint Viator (Arlington Heights, IL) to battle the Lions in a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 4. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 8-17. Saint Viator lost 12-3 in their recent league challenge against Benet Academy (Lisle, IL)
