New York High School Softball - Riverhead bounces Longwood

May 2, 2024: Middle Island, NY 11953

The Riverhead Blue Waves routed the host Longwood Lions softball squad by a final score of 13-0 in Thursday's league battle.

The Blue Waves (15-0) will now prepare for their battle against William Floyd (Mastic Beach, NY). The Colonials go into the Section 11 AA-1 battle with a 8-8 record. In their last battle, William Floyd was routed by Patchogue-Medford (Medford, NY), 1-0, in a league battle.

The Lions now possess a 1-7 record. They play next when they travel to Walt Whitman for a non-league battle on Friday, May 3. Longwood will meet a Wildcats squad coming off a 6-5 non-league loss to Sachem East (Farmingville, NY). The Wildcats record now stands at 5-8.
