Whitehall Vikings (Whitehall, MI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Sparta Spartans (Sparta, MI), 17-15 in a non-league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 7-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to Orchard View for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 7.

With the loss, Sparta falls to 3-7 on the campaign. The Spartans host Oakridge (Muskegon, MI) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 6. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 10-5.
