In Friday's non-league game, the visiting Benton Cardinals baseball team scored a close 4-3 win over the Kirksville Tigers.

The Cardinals (13-12) will now prepare for their game against Savannah (Savannah, MO). The Savages go into the Class 4 District 16 game with a 17-9 record. In their last game, Savannah nudged Maryville (Maryville, MO), 7-2, in a league game.

Next, the Tigers play the Marshall Owls (Marshall, MO) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, May 6. Kirksville will attempt to improve on its 10-16 season record. The Owls go into the game with a 1-15 record after their 4-0 non-league loss to Moberly (Moberly, MO).
