Fans at Friday's league test between the Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC) and the visiting Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC), witnessed Laney's lacrosse squad top Ashley by a count of 14-5.

The Buccaneers (16-1) will now prepare for their test against North Brunswick (Leland, NC). The Scorpions enter the Mideastern test with a 10-11 record. In their last test, North Brunswick was overwhelmed by Topsail (Hampstead, NC), 17-1, in a league test.

Next, the Screaming Eagle battle the South Brunswick Cougars (Southport, NC) in a Mideastern test, on Monday, May 5. Ashley will attempt to move on its 7-12 season record. The Cougars enter the test with a 1-14 record after their 18-2 league loss to Laney (Wilmington, NC).
