Kansas High School Softball - Salina Central can't get by Newton

The Newton Railroaders edged the visiting Salina Central Mustangs softball squad by a count of 5-4 in Friday's league challenge.

Next, the Railroaders meet the Great Bend Panthers (Great Bend, KS) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, May 15. Newton will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Panthers enter the challenge with a 18-3 record after their 9-2 league win over Garden City (Garden City, KS).

The Mustangs (15-5) will now prepare for their challenge against West (Topeka, KS). The Chargers enter the United Kansas challenge with a 8-8 record.
