The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Nutley Maroon Raiders (Nutley, NJ) and the visiting Verona Hillbillies (Verona, NJ), observed Nutley's softball team get by Verona by a tally of 9-8.

The Maroon Raiders (9-6) will now prepare for their bout against Montclair (Montclair, NJ). The Mounties go into the SEC - American bout with a 12-4 record. In their last bout, Montclair tipped Glen Ridge (Glen Ridge, NJ), 6-3, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Hillbillies battle the Bayonne Bees (Bayonne, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, May 3. Verona will attempt to advance on its 9-6 season record. The Bees go into the bout with a 11-4 record after their 5-1 league win over Hoboken (Hoboken, NJ).
