The Alleghany Cougars (Covington, VA) softball the visiting Floyd County Buffaloes (Floyd, VA), 4-1 in Tuesday's league outing.

The Cougars now sport a 14-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Wilson Memorial for a non-league outing on Wednesday, May 21. Alleghany will encounter a Green Hornets team coming off a 16-2 league win over Staunton (Staunton, VA). The Green Hornets record now stands at 9-11.

With the loss, Floyd County moves to 11-7 on the season. The Buffaloes travel to Radford (Radford, VA) to encounter the Bobcats in a Three Rivers outing on Wednesday, May 21.
