The crowd at Tuesday's non-league bout between the Marian Catholic (Tamaqua, PA) and the visiting Mahanoy Area Golden Bears (Mahanoy City, PA), observed Marian Catholic's softball team get by Mahanoy Area by a tally of 14-9.

The (12-9) will now prepare for their bout against Shenandoah Valley (Shenandoah, PA). The Blue Devils go into the Schuylkill II bout with a 3-16 record. In their last bout, Shenandoah Valley was routed by Nativity BVM (Pottsville, PA), 20-5, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Golden Bears battle the Williams Valley Vikings (Tower City, PA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, May 22. Mahanoy Area will attempt to advance on its 8-12 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 19-2 record after their 14-5 non-league loss to Pine Grove (Pine Grove, PA).
