In Friday's non-league contest, the Lake Region Lakers (Naples, ME) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Sacopee Valley Hawks (Cornish, ME), by a margin of 20-4.

With the triumph, Lake Region moves its record to 6-7 on the year. The Lakers host Cape Elizabeth (Cape Elizabeth, ME) to play the Capers in a Class B South contest on Monday, May 24. The Capers come into the contest with a record of 20-0. Cape Elizabeth won 8-1 in their recent league contest against Greely (Cumberland Center, ME)

Coming up next, the Hawks clash with the Poland Knights (Poland, ME) in a non-league test, on Monday, May 24. Sacopee Valley will attempt to improve on its 10-6 season record. The Knights come into the test with a 6-4 record after their 8-2 league loss to Gray-New Gloucester (Gray, ME).
