Coventry Oakers (Coventry, RI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Pilgrim Patriots (Warwick, RI), 2-0 in a league challenge.

The Oakers now own a 13-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to South Kingstown for a State Championship Division - South challenge on Wednesday, May 25. Coventry will face a Rebels squad coming off a 7-6 league loss to Chariho (Wood River Junction, RI). The Rebels record now stands at 2-16.

With the loss, Pilgrim falls to 16-2 on the campaign. The Patriots host North Kingstown (North Kingstown, RI) to face the Skippers in a State Championship Division - South challenge on Wednesday, May 25. The Skippers enter the challenge with a record of 2-15. North Kingstown lost 11-7 in their recent non-league challenge against Toll Gate (Warwick, RI)
