Jonesport-Beals Royals (Jonesport, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Shead Tigers (Eastport, ME), 6-5 in a league challenge.

The Royals now own a 1-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Machias for a Class D North challenge on Monday, May 23. Jonesport-Beals will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 15-1 league win over Shead (Eastport, ME). The Bulldogs record now stands at 5-4.

With the loss, Shead falls to 2-6 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Narraguagus (Harrington, ME) to battle the Knights in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 25. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 6-5. Narraguagus lost 10-9 in their recent league challenge against Washington Academy (East Machias, ME)
