The crowd at Wednesday's league bout between the Elmwood Park Tigers (Elmwood Park, IL) and the host Elgin Maroons (Elgin, IL), observed Elmwood Park's softball team get by Elgin by a tally of 7-1.

The Tigers (11-19) will now prepare for their bout against Maine East (Park Ridge, IL). The Blue Demons go into the non-league bout with a 3-15 record. In their last bout, Maine East tipped Northtown (Chicago, IL), 16-7, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Maroons clash with the Ridgewood Rebels (Norridge, IL) in a Upstate Eight bout, on Thursday, May 22. Elgin will attempt to advance on its 5-23 season record. The Rebels go into the bout with a 7-15 record after their 5-2 league loss to Glenbard South (Glen Ellyn, IL).
