Connecticut High School Softball - Somers bounces Northwestern Regional

The Somers Spartans softball team scored 8 runs and held the host Northwestern Regional Highlanders to 3 in the Spartans non-league win on Wednesday.
The Spartans now possess a 3-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Ellington for a North Central Connecticut battle on Thursday, May 22. Somers will confront a Knights team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Coventry/Windham RVT/Bolton/Lyman Memorial (Coventry, CT). The Knights record now stands at 15-2.
With the loss, Northwestern Regional moves to 10-3 on the season. The Highlanders host Wolcott RVT (Torrington, CT) to confront the Wildcats in a non-league battle on Monday, May 26. The Wildcats come into the battle with a record of 7-12. Wolcott RVT lost 11-1 in their recent non-league battle against Platt Tech (Milford, CT)
