Spectators at Monday's league match between the Moses Brown Quakers (Providence, RI) and the visiting Smithfield Sentinels (Esmond, RI), witnessed Moses Brown's softball squad tip Smithfield by a count of 8-7.

The Quakers now sport a 2-15 record. They play next when they travel to Chariho for a Division 1B (State) match on Wednesday, May 24. Moses Brown will face a Chargers squad coming off a 12-0 league loss to Pilgrim (Warwick, RI). The Chargers record now stands at 7-13.

With the loss, Smithfield moves to 6-10 on the season. The Sentinels host Prout (Wakefield, RI) to face the Crusaders in a match on Tuesday, May 23. The Crusaders go into the match with a record of 5-11. Prout lost 11-3 in their recent league test against La Salle Academy (Providence, RI)
