Massachusetts High School Softball - Newburyport holds off Triton Regional

Newburyport Clippers (Newburyport, MA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Triton Regional Vikings (Byfield, MA), 10-8 in a league challenge.

The Clippers now sport a 11-6 record. They take the field next when they host Pentucket Regional for a Cape Ann Kinney challenge on Wednesday, May 24.

With the loss, Triton Regional falls to 16-2 on the campaign. The Vikings host Andover (Andover, MA) to face the Golden Warriors in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 24. The Golden Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 5-10.
