Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the Essex Trojans (Tappahannock, VA) and the visiting West Point Pointers (West Point, VA), witnessed Essex's softball squad prevail over West Point by a count of 17-5.
The Trojans now sport a 15-4 record. They play next when they host Middlesex for a non-league match on Tuesday, May 28. Essex will face a Chargers squad coming off a 18-0 non-league win over Northumberland (Heathsville, VA). The Chargers record now stands at 14-4.
With the loss, West Point moves to 9-9 on the season.
