The Dakota Valley Panthers got by the visiting Sioux Falls Christian Chargers softball squad by a count of 4-3 in Thursday's league challenge.
Next, the Panthers meet the Vermillion Tanagers (Vermillion, SD) in a Class A challenge, on Friday, May 23. Dakota Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 12-6 season record. The Tanagers go into the challenge with a 6-9 record after their 10-3 league win over Parkston (Parkston, SD).
The Chargers (12-13) will now prepare for their challenge against Elk Point-Jefferson (Elk Point, SD). The Huskies go into the Class A challenge with a 6-9 record. In their last challenge, Elk Point-Jefferson held off Alcester-Hudson (Alcester, SD), 13-12, in a non-league challenge.
