Central Red Devils (East Corinth, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting George Stevens Academy Eagles (Blue Hill, ME), 8-7 in a league challenge.

The Red Devils now own a 7-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Piscataquis for a Class C North challenge on Tuesday, May 24. Central will battle a Pirates squad coming off a 11-7 non-league loss to Stearns (Millinocket, ME). The Pirates record now stands at 3-7.

With the loss, George Stevens Academy falls to 2-10 on the campaign. The Eagles host Ellsworth (Ellsworth, ME) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 25. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 8-2. Ellsworth lost 3-2 in their recent league challenge against Mount Desert Island (Mount Desert, ME)
