Spectators at Monday's non-league match between the Peabody Veterans Memorial Tanners (Peabody, MA) and the visiting Masconomet Regional Chieftains (Boxford, MA), witnessed Peabody Veterans Memorial's softball squad tip Masconomet Regional by a count of 9-3.

The Tanners now sport a 15-1 record. They play next when they travel to Swampscott for a Northeast match on Wednesday, May 25. Peabody Veterans Memorial will face a Big Blue squad coming off a 13-1 league loss to Gloucester (Gloucester, MA). The Big Blue record now stands at 6-10.

With the loss, Masconomet Regional moves to 8-7 on the season. The Chieftains travel to Essex North Shore Agric & Tech School (Hathorne, MA) to face the Rams in a non-league match on Tuesday, May 24. The Rams go into the match with a record of 4-10. Essex North Shore Agric & Tech School lost 17-4 in their recent non-league match against Haverhill (Haverhill, MA)
